It's kinda like Christmas...a lot like Christmas.
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yxmTDAN92cE/UEgfDTetFSI/AAAAAAAAG84/E_XmZuDJrD0/s1600/A+Boutique+pic.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yxmTDAN92cE/UEgfDTetFSI/AAAAAAAAG84/E_XmZuDJrD0/s640/A+Boutique+pic.jpg" width="448" /></a></div>
Both sides...the innocent, believing child Christmas and the adult, magic-making Christmas. Putting on a boutique take prep work, emails, phone calls, signs, ads, mailers, flyers, blog buttons and posts. I takes time to find the right vendors that will bring products that will make our friends feel that rush of excitement when they step in through our doors. It's fun to plan, to map out, to watch details and figure final steps in orchestrating something like this, but then....<br />
<br />
It's that giddy, nervous, hopeful -yes-I-may-throw-up-out-of -pure-excited-ness feeling WE get to experience, too. As vendors come in and set up, as we set up...as we walk through all the amazingly fun goodies that all of these lovely vendors have worked so hard to assemble and present. I don't sleep the night before- just like Christmas. <br />
<br />
So even if it's not in your budget- you don't have to buy a thing...those feelings are all free and we'd love for you to come and experience Mindy Mae's Market. :D</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-K_WGRUtKjKQ/UEbpVaILB_I/AAAAAAAAG3E/KCDjYp6msNs/s1600/This+Into+That.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="388" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-K_WGRUtKjKQ/UEbpVaILB_I/AAAAAAAAG3E/KCDjYp6msNs/s640/This+Into+That.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
I had some odds and ends lying around that I thought I would put to good use. I really like the wood- infused items I'm seeing EVERYWHERE...so I thought I'd try my hand at it. I started with an old picture frame, minus the glass. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kjIpK6HPVsM/UEbpZh80KNI/AAAAAAAAG3o/3Jyj2awBoJI/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kjIpK6HPVsM/UEbpZh80KNI/AAAAAAAAG3o/3Jyj2awBoJI/s320/1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Trace paper mache letter on the back of the paper. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-my57rr8u1bA/UEbpbU5PWMI/AAAAAAAAG3w/Y5zr1GBLhuQ/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-my57rr8u1bA/UEbpbU5PWMI/AAAAAAAAG3w/Y5zr1GBLhuQ/s320/2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Cut it out....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-A8RC4sM1hgw/UEbpdKn7QKI/AAAAAAAAG34/30IKCd3eQL4/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="301" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-A8RC4sM1hgw/UEbpdKn7QKI/AAAAAAAAG34/30IKCd3eQL4/s320/3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
and apply spray adhesive (I'm sure the Craft Wars judges would see me off rather quickly.).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iTNzz2tB0Yk/UEbpfDLcQNI/AAAAAAAAG4A/soSTpolE95c/s1600/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="232" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iTNzz2tB0Yk/UEbpfDLcQNI/AAAAAAAAG4A/soSTpolE95c/s320/4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I added some more paper (just trace the sides and cut it out) to give it some more dimension.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pd3Vtft5Q7Q/UEbpgcnlH7I/AAAAAAAAG4I/Dzu-HW7CY44/s1600/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="306" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pd3Vtft5Q7Q/UEbpgcnlH7I/AAAAAAAAG4I/Dzu-HW7CY44/s320/5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I placed it in the middle to eyeball where I wanted it. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GMoMcC9XhHI/UEbpiebX1LI/AAAAAAAAG4Q/ucevxj2UYek/s1600/6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="253" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GMoMcC9XhHI/UEbpiebX1LI/AAAAAAAAG4Q/ucevxj2UYek/s320/6.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And commenced wrapping my letter first...then the frame with the wire.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8eHbnSCrrQI/UEbppGO4DII/AAAAAAAAG4Y/2zxKDWtVRms/s1600/7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8eHbnSCrrQI/UEbppGO4DII/AAAAAAAAG4Y/2zxKDWtVRms/s320/7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I had some left over burlap from a past project. I knotted one end and started twisting and twirling it around itself.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dHYgdfaS3Gg/UEbpqlv7DlI/AAAAAAAAG4g/u722CkPpHQ8/s1600/8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="244" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dHYgdfaS3Gg/UEbpqlv7DlI/AAAAAAAAG4g/u722CkPpHQ8/s320/8.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I cut out a felt circle to give it some additional support and to keep it all together.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DMlPZTSFVtc/UEbpwVWTq5I/AAAAAAAAG4o/dU1hdux63I4/s1600/9.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DMlPZTSFVtc/UEbpwVWTq5I/AAAAAAAAG4o/dU1hdux63I4/s320/9.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I added that with spray adhesive, too. {GASP!}<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NCqnPSt7Ln8/UEbpxlqjvbI/AAAAAAAAG4w/oA7-hEQU_B8/s1600/10.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="282" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NCqnPSt7Ln8/UEbpxlqjvbI/AAAAAAAAG4w/oA7-hEQU_B8/s320/10.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I took the remaining wire and twisted it around the top and side of the frame, ending at the flower. I attatched the flower to the frame with it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2we2LR5RtYw/UEbpzIK4ZdI/AAAAAAAAG44/B6FR4L21JGM/s1600/11.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2we2LR5RtYw/UEbpzIK4ZdI/AAAAAAAAG44/B6FR4L21JGM/s320/11.jpg" width="284" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1QRGTpafD7w/UEesKLhZ0nI/AAAAAAAAG6o/yHe6ojP9hro/s1600/12.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1QRGTpafD7w/UEesKLhZ0nI/AAAAAAAAG6o/yHe6ojP9hro/s320/12.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I'm totally digging it! Wasn't sure if I would come together- but it did!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-USlfUYbACz4/UEWO7nUoDzI/AAAAAAAAGzc/xCyN4fhuhFQ/s1600/Intro.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-USlfUYbACz4/UEWO7nUoDzI/AAAAAAAAGzc/xCyN4fhuhFQ/s640/Intro.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
I had this wreath form that I intended to make a second straw wreath with. I also need something a little fun for my classroom. So I pulled out the form.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-axCQJ2vV7lw/UEWO_LlDGAI/AAAAAAAAGzk/K9bE-mq-3Zc/s1600/1.5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="292" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-axCQJ2vV7lw/UEWO_LlDGAI/AAAAAAAAGzk/K9bE-mq-3Zc/s320/1.5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Pink is not a school color- but I really didn't want to cause more damage by taking off the ribbon- so I left it. I found some navy felt- which IS a school color. :)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qqXV73CCEFU/UEWPBViSeRI/AAAAAAAAGzs/vVerhTokkDI/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qqXV73CCEFU/UEWPBViSeRI/AAAAAAAAGzs/vVerhTokkDI/s320/2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I haphazardly cut the felt sheets into one inch to one and a half inch felt strips. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BsRkR6k9VLk/UEWPCo0JlYI/AAAAAAAAGz0/Q1W6Vg8U15o/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="227" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BsRkR6k9VLk/UEWPCo0JlYI/AAAAAAAAGz0/Q1W6Vg8U15o/s320/3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Weilding my hot glue gun I started wrapping the felt around the ribbon-covered form.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0JV1nfmj7DY/UEWPEM0ea5I/AAAAAAAAGz8/4hqywCT3rjI/s1600/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="194" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0JV1nfmj7DY/UEWPEM0ea5I/AAAAAAAAGz8/4hqywCT3rjI/s320/4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Here is the wreath covered in felt. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-e_tLCr29VT4/UEWPFzn68hI/AAAAAAAAG0E/eY6k2QYcG1A/s1600/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="289" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-e_tLCr29VT4/UEWPFzn68hI/AAAAAAAAG0E/eY6k2QYcG1A/s320/5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I ALSO found some left-over striped straws- PERFECT! I cut them into thirds and halves. I used about 25 straws.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iTrnLIQUbdA/UEWPIXhz02I/AAAAAAAAG0M/w4EiiCPk2bw/s1600/6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="220" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iTrnLIQUbdA/UEWPIXhz02I/AAAAAAAAG0M/w4EiiCPk2bw/s320/6.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Then I started gluing...and tying- sorry I had to see how it might look! I glued the straws close to the inner edge of the wreath. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ohJKY5143rU/UEWPKKkyonI/AAAAAAAAG0U/y3Por-Cy5x4/s1600/7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="241" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ohJKY5143rU/UEWPKKkyonI/AAAAAAAAG0U/y3Por-Cy5x4/s320/7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I then made a hanger for the wreath...you know, so it can hang. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_EylNjq_TVQ/UEWPLdc6W6I/AAAAAAAAG0c/KTdVlb7OHKA/s1600/8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="192" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_EylNjq_TVQ/UEWPLdc6W6I/AAAAAAAAG0c/KTdVlb7OHKA/s320/8.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I finished tying the ribbons around the bottom corner of the wreath. I tied the scraps around the wreath and then slid them to stagger a bit around the wreath. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-a_is--Us-e8/UEWPNDyYwTI/AAAAAAAAG0k/prlW67lmXmA/s1600/9.5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-a_is--Us-e8/UEWPNDyYwTI/AAAAAAAAG0k/prlW67lmXmA/s320/9.5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Here's my cute SCHOOL SPIRIT wreath! All set to find it's way into my classroom!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7jVvKIW2YY8/UEWPO8nmH_I/AAAAAAAAG0s/Alxn69stzTQ/s1600/9.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="318" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7jVvKIW2YY8/UEWPO8nmH_I/AAAAAAAAG0s/Alxn69stzTQ/s320/9.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

I went back to work this week. School starts next week but this week I've had trainings and other needed meetings scheduled most of (if not all of) everyday. We've had no medical emergencies this whole summer...until I went back to work.
<br />
<br />
This was Tuesday. Five stitches external, three inside. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wjvDUXP5Yw8/UEBAbWxBgSI/AAAAAAAAGsA/5owIDUkDXGA/s1600/nix.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wjvDUXP5Yw8/UEBAbWxBgSI/AAAAAAAAGsA/5owIDUkDXGA/s1600/nix.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Thursday was another trip to the doctor's office when my children happend upon a hornet's nest whilst on a walk with my {poor, sweet} Sister-in-law. Picture a newlywed woman without children of her own yet, trying to calm and gather FOUR frantic- bee following children. THEN keeping them that way and getting them to a vehicle around the block. AMAZING. Perfect execution. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So...crafting has slowed for today. Next up: This DIY Spoon Mirror....I have some ideas for it in my classroom. Pretty excited. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Also getting ready for our upcoming BOUTIQUE! So excited- it's been a while!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hzvIk64oi70/UD7eC0n_eBI/AAAAAAAAGn0/3CP_9jxnzCA/s1600/Intro.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hzvIk64oi70/UD7eC0n_eBI/AAAAAAAAGn0/3CP_9jxnzCA/s640/Intro.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Getting ready for school involves getting classroom procedures in order...and everything you need to make them happen, too. I want my students not to interupt the class when they come in late. I needed something that would hold a clipboard and a place for their admits. Well, well. I just happened to have this little item- I think it was a wedding gift, no less. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-I41Dmf1Xr2s/UD7eIVzCj0I/AAAAAAAAGn8/WXhCiA2iA9w/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="268" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-I41Dmf1Xr2s/UD7eIVzCj0I/AAAAAAAAGn8/WXhCiA2iA9w/s320/2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I knew I would use it- one day! ;) I pulled it out of the garage, cleaned it up, took the hardware off and started painting. Our school colors are navy, blue and orange. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-iAQ2Y3RIW10/UD7eKqxUTpI/AAAAAAAAGoE/XnHTW_OUVms/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="296" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-iAQ2Y3RIW10/UD7eKqxUTpI/AAAAAAAAGoE/XnHTW_OUVms/s320/3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I liked this color a lot. It's not too navy OR too bright. A couple of coats and we were good to go.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-C-6wWCIznYA/UD7eNPO_ccI/AAAAAAAAGoM/mmlYtdRCVj0/s1600/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="260" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-C-6wWCIznYA/UD7eNPO_ccI/AAAAAAAAGoM/mmlYtdRCVj0/s320/4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I had a clipboard lying around (no joke. I'm like addicted to things with clips.) I taped the clip and spray painted it orange (obviously). <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4hE70sl8cmo/UD7eO0hsGUI/AAAAAAAAGoU/1fcA_Rn9qa4/s1600/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="228" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4hE70sl8cmo/UD7eO0hsGUI/AAAAAAAAGoU/1fcA_Rn9qa4/s320/5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
After it dried I flipped it over, hot glued ric-rac to the back and covered it with felt. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Rp5MJGkX3SQ/UD7eRJULuaI/AAAAAAAAGoc/fKmzzQXCFUo/s1600/6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="244" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Rp5MJGkX3SQ/UD7eRJULuaI/AAAAAAAAGoc/fKmzzQXCFUo/s320/6.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I had a piece of paper that was laminated- I put it inside the frame and made marks where the corners of the frame were, took it out and cut the rectangle out. Then I painted this laminated paper orange, too.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Ro1_lWqfGOo/UD7eSod3iSI/AAAAAAAAGok/rWPsJAxprrs/s1600/7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Ro1_lWqfGOo/UD7eSod3iSI/AAAAAAAAGok/rWPsJAxprrs/s320/7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I did the same thing with this piece of white vinyl. I printed 'Late!' on a plain piece of printer paper- and using my trusty razor I cut it out of the vinyl. I taped the printed word over the top and cut through both papr and vinyl. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JttFaKZGlho/UD7eUOlcklI/AAAAAAAAGos/vOWgSFS7szo/s1600/9.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="267" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JttFaKZGlho/UD7eUOlcklI/AAAAAAAAGos/vOWgSFS7szo/s320/9.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I printed "admits" out, too. I cut it out and fit it into the label holder.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9RincD_EO5M/UD7eVv-AyzI/AAAAAAAAGo0/hOai0w3_Irs/s1600/10.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9RincD_EO5M/UD7eVv-AyzI/AAAAAAAAGo0/hOai0w3_Irs/s320/10.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I placed the vinyl over the top of the orange-painted laminated paper. I printed 'sign in here', cut it out and simply taped it to the sign. (I free-handed the arrow...aren't you impressed?) <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7TjEyxswS78/UD7eWtKlO4I/AAAAAAAAGo8/nAZ3TGbog-M/s1600/8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7TjEyxswS78/UD7eWtKlO4I/AAAAAAAAGo8/nAZ3TGbog-M/s320/8.jpg" width="193" /></a></div>
And here's the final project. A sign, a place for admits and a clipboard for them to sign-in with! One step closer to school starting as well!<br />

As I get ready for school to start I decided to browse for some ideas for my classroom on etsy and share. <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2KJV3I32KaA/UDw6sQgyv1I/AAAAAAAAGf8/JKGO3YlqDXA/s1600/INTRO.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="425" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2KJV3I32KaA/UDw6sQgyv1I/AAAAAAAAGf8/JKGO3YlqDXA/s640/INTRO.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I saw this super-cute lamp in my Ikea catalog. I really wanted it. It was such a neat looking lamp. Then I saw the price tag. $99.00. Dang. I don't think I've ever paid more than $10 for a lamp. It was a good thought.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sM3-Rfimjc4/UDw7mP-3MsI/AAAAAAAAGiE/GD-9csjEeh8/s1600/IKEA+lamp.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sM3-Rfimjc4/UDw7mP-3MsI/AAAAAAAAGiE/GD-9csjEeh8/s320/IKEA+lamp.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then I had an even better idea. I found a couple lamp shades at the last DownEast sale. I took all the paper off of it and grabbed the tulle I had in my craft stash. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fzBDGesgLbc/UDw6uJiywzI/AAAAAAAAGgE/GTV_114GVMo/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="231" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fzBDGesgLbc/UDw6uJiywzI/AAAAAAAAGgE/GTV_114GVMo/s320/1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I began by cutting the tulle into 2-ft pieces. I cut the tulle so that it was enough to tie around the top with excess and to tie/glue at the bottom of the lamp shade with excess as well.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ujUkPIHiHdU/UDw6wn-T5GI/AAAAAAAAGgM/-y7OMeRQEw8/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="267" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ujUkPIHiHdU/UDw6wn-T5GI/AAAAAAAAGgM/-y7OMeRQEw8/s320/2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Once the pieces were cut, I combined four pieces together and then tied them at the top of the lamp- four to each "side" and then a group of eight pieces of tulle around each of the wires going down the side. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rsXaFBLTSjk/UDw6zliTpMI/AAAAAAAAGgU/DLWqcdwrJ6c/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rsXaFBLTSjk/UDw6zliTpMI/AAAAAAAAGgU/DLWqcdwrJ6c/s320/3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
As you can see- I have quite a bit of excess tulle. With one end of the tulle tied at the top, I let the rest flow down, in preparation for gluing to the lamp shade form. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-B0Dj28rxWhg/UDw61gzGCJI/AAAAAAAAGgc/LbncQwYK30s/s1600/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-B0Dj28rxWhg/UDw61gzGCJI/AAAAAAAAGgc/LbncQwYK30s/s320/4.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-G2qlnFURiaM/UDw63gCqX_I/AAAAAAAAGgo/VYpZhU4JVFQ/s1600/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a> </div>
I tied the corner tulle (covering the additional form wires) to keep it out of the way- it's purple mainly to differentiate the parts. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Swe4t-wGiWI/UDw66BMZLdI/AAAAAAAAGgw/ZNfnEtiTo60/s1600/6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="255" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Swe4t-wGiWI/UDw66BMZLdI/AAAAAAAAGgw/ZNfnEtiTo60/s320/6.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I pulled the tulle in sections (there were four- one for each side of the form) one-at-a-time through the center of the lamp shade form. I hot glued the INSIDE of the form first and laid the tulle flat against it- as neatly as possible. When that cooled I glued the OTHER side of the form and pulled/wrapped the tulle around that. This allowed the tulle to flare out to the sides of the lamp shade. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QsnRCdTpImQ/UDw67oErTvI/AAAAAAAAGg4/xFjoIuhO_x8/s1600/8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QsnRCdTpImQ/UDw67oErTvI/AAAAAAAAGg4/xFjoIuhO_x8/s320/8.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
After I glued it all, I trimmed the bottom tulle so that it was approx. 3 inches long. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GL95RhXnrHU/UDw69lQCASI/AAAAAAAAGhA/rWh-DWrXVDQ/s1600/9.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GL95RhXnrHU/UDw69lQCASI/AAAAAAAAGhA/rWh-DWrXVDQ/s320/9.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Here's the lamp with a trimmed bottom and untrimmed top/<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XcjahcOLlN4/UDw6-xP2Q5I/AAAAAAAAGhI/T0BuHzhYcDg/s1600/10.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XcjahcOLlN4/UDw6-xP2Q5I/AAAAAAAAGhI/T0BuHzhYcDg/s320/10.jpg" width="229" /></a></div>
<br />
Then I cropped the top. I cut the tulle down to match the length of the bottom. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1WelAtxQE4g/UDw7Ax56qMI/AAAAAAAAGhQ/pmeW7-Dvkls/s1600/11.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="257" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1WelAtxQE4g/UDw7Ax56qMI/AAAAAAAAGhQ/pmeW7-Dvkls/s320/11.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Using the extra tulle that I had been trimming off I started to add more "poof" to the bottom half of the lamp. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-FPKMhnnLe6U/UDw7CuySHDI/AAAAAAAAGhY/WyzJVZeSrD4/s1600/12.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="241" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-FPKMhnnLe6U/UDw7CuySHDI/AAAAAAAAGhY/WyzJVZeSrD4/s320/12.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I gathered approximately four-ish small pieces together. I folded them down, glued down the center (folded again, so the pieces were all glued together) and then glued this filler piece to the underside of the lamp.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-C_odWMeljYM/UDw7DiGUp4I/AAAAAAAAGhg/5U4sXJX5OgI/s1600/13.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="210" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-C_odWMeljYM/UDw7DiGUp4I/AAAAAAAAGhg/5U4sXJX5OgI/s320/13.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
It looked like this:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-93oLdL-I4UU/UDw7FR7F2GI/AAAAAAAAGho/sYbqu1qoaXw/s1600/14.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-93oLdL-I4UU/UDw7FR7F2GI/AAAAAAAAGho/sYbqu1qoaXw/s320/14.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I just repeated what I had done with the first tulle - just smaller 'chunks'.<br />
<br />
After I added what I wanted I turned it over and trimmed it down {again}.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_nefm1-M9eU/UDw7GhU-QvI/AAAAAAAAGhw/ouGNwYtImFI/s1600/15.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_nefm1-M9eU/UDw7GhU-QvI/AAAAAAAAGhw/ouGNwYtImFI/s320/15.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I really am pleased with the way it turned out. I must say that I really thought this was going to be a craft FAIL. So, my total for this lovely little lamp? Tulle: $7.00, Lamp: $3.50, Lamp Shade $1.50. Total {ish} $12.00! Far cry from $99.00- so I'm pretty happy about it. <br />

This picture was taken at Ikea- one of the few trips we've taken to do "fun" stuff. It's currently the best picture we have of the two of us together. Both showered. ;)<br />
<br />
I wanted to take a minute to tell you...{because you're reading this} "Thank you". Courtney and I started this amazing journey together with the desire to be creative, to build relationships and to allow us greater control of our own lives. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-b9ZgXs-Dl0Y/UDr_h_gNj0I/AAAAAAAAGcg/cjXqoYLkYEI/s1600/us.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-b9ZgXs-Dl0Y/UDr_h_gNj0I/AAAAAAAAGcg/cjXqoYLkYEI/s320/us.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Mindy Mae's Market has brought all of this into our lives because of YOU. I want you to know that we watch your status updates on Facebook. We celebrate with you and discuss your vents and concerns that you've shared. We stalk your blogs. We talk about your darling posts and about the ways that you have become endearing to us. We love to see you "take the next step" and branch out. We "awww" and coo over the pictures you post of your babies...human or otherwise. ;)We check out how your giveaways are going (and enter...with hopes of winning). We oggle your projects and make plans to do them, too. We talk about how we can grow with you...how we might be able to help...ways we wish we could help. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Thank you for sharing with us. Thanks for letting our relationships be more than bubble mailers and postage stickers. We appreciate you. We appreciate you investing in us. We want you to know that we try hard. Every. Single. Day. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We will continue to. That's what you do for people that you care about. :)</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cYArwZZVYFw/UDcE4yExalI/AAAAAAAAGYw/4gAYFNluy9I/s1600/ttn2t.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="412" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cYArwZZVYFw/UDcE4yExalI/AAAAAAAAGYw/4gAYFNluy9I/s640/ttn2t.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tOTNBilOlj0/UDcFbiTYhNI/AAAAAAAAGZ8/hwgJfGUzCw0/s1600/sheena.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="298" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tOTNBilOlj0/UDcFbiTYhNI/AAAAAAAAGZ8/hwgJfGUzCw0/s400/sheena.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My friend <a href="http://individualrivalry.blogspot.com/2012/08/im-going-to-go-ahead-and-pat-myself-on.html" target="_blank">Sheena from Individual Rivalry made this incredible frame on her site</a>. I had to try it! I was fantastic - a frame and some glue. I decided to try it.</div>
<br />
<br />
I had this old frame- completely nondescript. I wanted to use it for a really cute quote I hope to print.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8NV_tOJHUrw/UDcE6vPJIKI/AAAAAAAAGY4/gbG8rnuMYw8/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="250" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8NV_tOJHUrw/UDcE6vPJIKI/AAAAAAAAGY4/gbG8rnuMYw8/s320/1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I took Sheena's advice on her site and decided to give puff paint a go. I happened to have some from a craft I started and ended up going in another direction...like THAT ever happens, right?! {Gee, can you GUESS which holiday it MIGHT have involved?}<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZzyV6uEahsg/UDcE8MOczOI/AAAAAAAAGZA/GymxYG_gvFk/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZzyV6uEahsg/UDcE8MOczOI/AAAAAAAAGZA/GymxYG_gvFk/s320/2.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I'm not a great artist. My designs are not fantasmic. I know. I tried to copy a frame that I found on the Internet. This is to inspire YOU, okay?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-s_RnyqS5G3c/UDcE-eF83HI/AAAAAAAAGZI/DDABCbTh7zQ/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="191" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-s_RnyqS5G3c/UDcE-eF83HI/AAAAAAAAGZI/DDABCbTh7zQ/s320/3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I did the whole frame...I found that the different bottles had different 'flow'. The red came out more prone to air bubbles and splatters. I recommend buying at least two so that you can cover the entire frame and so that you have other means in which to fix flubs. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gQn246WRz_c/UDcFAiJyinI/AAAAAAAAGZQ/M_hvBOzGA-Y/s1600/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="318" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gQn246WRz_c/UDcFAiJyinI/AAAAAAAAGZQ/M_hvBOzGA-Y/s320/4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-shx03Hb7Q1Y/UDcFEjLIwoI/AAAAAAAAGZc/6-AqlCFy7pM/s1600/4.5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="205" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-shx03Hb7Q1Y/UDcFEjLIwoI/AAAAAAAAGZc/6-AqlCFy7pM/s320/4.5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
After the puff paint dried I took it into my garage and gave it ONE {yay!} coat of spray paint. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YVgMjOjDT9E/UDcFFxpqweI/AAAAAAAAGZk/EaJfIVpORDE/s1600/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="232" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YVgMjOjDT9E/UDcFFxpqweI/AAAAAAAAGZk/EaJfIVpORDE/s320/5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I did a few more small touch ups- just in case. (Actually, my youngest decided to pick some of the puff paint off and I had to do damage control.)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ANrPrsYerso/UDcFH-NZKnI/AAAAAAAAGZs/wd84PeAJLJs/s1600/6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ANrPrsYerso/UDcFH-NZKnI/AAAAAAAAGZs/wd84PeAJLJs/s320/6.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
So now I need to find my way to a printer... but meanwhile- start thinking up some neat twists to this here terrific idea- Thanks Sheena!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ljQU9u_1IFQ/UDcFJWC8stI/AAAAAAAAGZ0/4fuBZK0mLm8/s1600/7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ljQU9u_1IFQ/UDcFJWC8stI/AAAAAAAAGZ0/4fuBZK0mLm8/s320/7.jpg" width="237" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-coYqSBbkRZ8/UDW3Q_8YecI/AAAAAAAAGUM/fa6rMUpH9s0/s1600/Intro.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="634" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-coYqSBbkRZ8/UDW3Q_8YecI/AAAAAAAAGUM/fa6rMUpH9s0/s640/Intro.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The boys in my house had a baseball night. They all left. And what do the girls do when there are no males around? We craft. We get out all the glitter and glitz and fabric and glue and we make stuff. <br />
We decided to make bracelets. I've seen more than a couple tutorials online for different ways to do them. Here's our take. Keep in mind my girls are 4 and 10...so you can gage them for own little ones. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XNhfVWlN_1w/UDW3g-AsBrI/AAAAAAAAGUU/F2jJojp8iZg/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XNhfVWlN_1w/UDW3g-AsBrI/AAAAAAAAGUU/F2jJojp8iZg/s320/1.jpg" width="151" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
We started with drinking waters earlier in the day- in preparation for the evenings' activities. The girls took the labels off so that the bottles started like this:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xc1TEJyglwk/UDW3im2XsVI/AAAAAAAAGUc/N8HCS9xeyJM/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="134" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xc1TEJyglwk/UDW3im2XsVI/AAAAAAAAGUc/N8HCS9xeyJM/s320/2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then I cut the top and the bottom off </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(I kept these- for some future products, just in case you hate wasting 'opportunity', too.)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VSY4f2M0Hs8/UDW6URtiUaI/AAAAAAAAGWw/7hnbm3ttRm0/s1600/IMG_5981.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VSY4f2M0Hs8/UDW6URtiUaI/AAAAAAAAGWw/7hnbm3ttRm0/s320/IMG_5981.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Then we cut the bottle open. This allows you to {sorta} lay it out flat so that you can cut it into the thickness you want your bracelets.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-O891FjuQ-Zc/UDW3kKkbg4I/AAAAAAAAGUk/nVaWS6gEJUs/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="204" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-O891FjuQ-Zc/UDW3kKkbg4I/AAAAAAAAGUk/nVaWS6gEJUs/s320/3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This picture looks weird...I was holding the camera AND trying to show you my cutting, too. Just know, you can determine the size you want to cut here. Put it around your wrist and measure it out. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sBd9Mp5czl8/UDW3l1kDcnI/AAAAAAAAGUs/XV2prAnH2X0/s1600/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sBd9Mp5czl8/UDW3l1kDcnI/AAAAAAAAGUs/XV2prAnH2X0/s320/4.jpg" width="304" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Also, you can determine if you want to cut it to size length-wise, too. I cut mine down to size...but you could wait til later, too.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YVhn1RK6__w/UDW3mxTid1I/AAAAAAAAGU0/YDl784OpUNs/s1600/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YVhn1RK6__w/UDW3mxTid1I/AAAAAAAAGU0/YDl784OpUNs/s320/5.jpg" width="296" /></a></div>
<br />
We used duct tape to cover the bottle- it gives more texture: something for everything else to hang-on to. After I laid the smaller (the girls') bracelets down I was able to fold the tape over length-wise, so it was fully covered (the hot-dog way, my daughter would say). The larger bracelet I folded the tape over the top (the hamburger way...I have no idea).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JiOvn2_X4gk/UDW3oGRwJyI/AAAAAAAAGU8/TQrrlKeArhY/s1600/6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="202" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JiOvn2_X4gk/UDW3oGRwJyI/AAAAAAAAGU8/TQrrlKeArhY/s320/6.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
After the bracelets were covered in duct tape, we decided what we would cover them in and what we would "make them pretty" with. Here were our basic tools: <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-HeShlkZc-qk/UDW3rq3UyQI/AAAAAAAAGVE/aJ7EgeCU8GA/s1600/7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="317" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-HeShlkZc-qk/UDW3rq3UyQI/AAAAAAAAGVE/aJ7EgeCU8GA/s320/7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
We glued the ric-rac to the bracelet- be careful not to touch the bracelet, it will melt. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Fod9wvL0Jn0/UDW30wg8gVI/AAAAAAAAGVM/xEDSEaylI1o/s1600/8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="309" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Fod9wvL0Jn0/UDW30wg8gVI/AAAAAAAAGVM/xEDSEaylI1o/s320/8.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Then we added a rolled-fabric flower and a cute button!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9dO47TYDS88/UDW32kHoNaI/AAAAAAAAGVU/C9zrfNXP-XE/s1600/8.2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="304" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9dO47TYDS88/UDW32kHoNaI/AAAAAAAAGVU/C9zrfNXP-XE/s320/8.2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-EYwqUMkMgy0/UDW4J8elw1I/AAAAAAAAGVk/9tXLTDc14OI/s1600/8.3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="277" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-EYwqUMkMgy0/UDW4J8elw1I/AAAAAAAAGVk/9tXLTDc14OI/s320/8.3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
My bracelet was twice as thick as the girls'. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hD7tZ8chWIc/UDW4OMGAnOI/AAAAAAAAGVs/A2umQ7W95vs/s1600/9.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="255" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hD7tZ8chWIc/UDW4OMGAnOI/AAAAAAAAGVs/A2umQ7W95vs/s320/9.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I used orange satin ribbon and the glue gun to attach it to the bracelet. I wanted to do something a little 'Anthropology-esque'.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mHPgP271TtU/UDW4RggSJuI/AAAAAAAAGV0/kRX_4gSBIRw/s1600/9.1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="253" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mHPgP271TtU/UDW4RggSJuI/AAAAAAAAGV0/kRX_4gSBIRw/s320/9.1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I wrapped mine in a rubber band while I helped the girls finish theirs.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-XnjXu7J9364/UDW4WiiIY9I/AAAAAAAAGWA/WqQB_V6IsXA/s1600/9.2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="262" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-XnjXu7J9364/UDW4WiiIY9I/AAAAAAAAGWA/WqQB_V6IsXA/s320/9.2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I won't lie. We got these really great enamel necklaces in this last week. I took it apart. I wanted to use it as a bracelet. I still need to clip the loops off of the flowers, but overall I love the look. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JGhFiwjXtws/UDW4YlNb6SI/AAAAAAAAGWI/FRzhX8ICMfg/s1600/9.3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="226" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JGhFiwjXtws/UDW4YlNb6SI/AAAAAAAAGWI/FRzhX8ICMfg/s320/9.3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-__xZPHM9g1E/UDW4euQXw3I/AAAAAAAAGWY/9QXjp94nU7M/s1600/11.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="219" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-__xZPHM9g1E/UDW4euQXw3I/AAAAAAAAGWY/9QXjp94nU7M/s320/11.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-G7UiRBMH2PY/UDW4gN0M09I/AAAAAAAAGWg/gOkfpIzITuY/s1600/12.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="232" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-G7UiRBMH2PY/UDW4gN0M09I/AAAAAAAAGWg/gOkfpIzITuY/s320/12.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--PzvREOgQuw/UDW4hRlK_YI/AAAAAAAAGWo/8gRYw9ldD8E/s1600/13.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="205" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--PzvREOgQuw/UDW4hRlK_YI/AAAAAAAAGWo/8gRYw9ldD8E/s320/13.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
We had a really fun time. I think if I was to change anything- I would probably double-up on the plastic bottles for my bracelet. It was terrific recycling and re-using items to make something my girls wore all day today.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cvarFYFdixQ/UDRtWUByNUI/AAAAAAAAGRk/tFebL6fGFTc/s1600/collage+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="490" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cvarFYFdixQ/UDRtWUByNUI/AAAAAAAAGRk/tFebL6fGFTc/s640/collage+2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
We all probably have accured quite the washi tape collection. I know I am well on my way....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hCDIfePFTWU/UDRtY7cMjaI/AAAAAAAAGRs/ciNXpaSFldw/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hCDIfePFTWU/UDRtY7cMjaI/AAAAAAAAGRs/ciNXpaSFldw/s400/1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And it doesn't help that I KEEP finding ways to use it. I took my kids to Walmart tonight to make another dent in their back-to-school lists. While we were on the toothbrush aisle, my oldest reminded me that we had discussed trying a toothpaste dispenser. We hadn't been able to find on FOREVER. The only problem...we had a choice between Dora and Sponge Bob. Boo. I almost walked away. Until....I remembered I had WASHI TAPE!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We went with Dora...she seemed less...foreboding.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UkuoUHOTwkE/UDRtbMLWoeI/AAAAAAAAGR0/a4MtrvLqQOg/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UkuoUHOTwkE/UDRtbMLWoeI/AAAAAAAAGR0/a4MtrvLqQOg/s400/2.jpg" width="286" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I came home and picked out my colors...and started wrapping. It took me three {magic number for me?} times around to fully cover Dora's Exploration on the contraption. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NQh9BbKVKqA/UDRtdkFotbI/AAAAAAAAGR8/q-aEN-Z-ifo/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="280" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NQh9BbKVKqA/UDRtdkFotbI/AAAAAAAAGR8/q-aEN-Z-ifo/s400/3.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Once I finished wrapping I had some extra 'overage' of washi tape over parts that I needed to be NOT covered....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Kma4YvAwHjU/UDRtgn9u3MI/AAAAAAAAGSE/aLWZ2EBASz8/s1600/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="152" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Kma4YvAwHjU/UDRtgn9u3MI/AAAAAAAAGSE/aLWZ2EBASz8/s320/4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
So I found my ever-illusive razor blade {not really a good thing in a house of four children}. It was almost magical at cleanly removing the excess washi tape. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-DmJ4JF87gDE/UDRtk9cCqgI/AAAAAAAAGSM/VeRvw9yPhK4/s1600/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="283" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-DmJ4JF87gDE/UDRtk9cCqgI/AAAAAAAAGSM/VeRvw9yPhK4/s320/5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Once I had clean lines all around it was time for Mod Podge. {I'm kind of glad I can type it because I'm pretty sure I say it wrong.} <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CNV9_n__tHs/UDRtoCu3jOI/AAAAAAAAGSU/_xfRDnODkNM/s1600/6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="318" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CNV9_n__tHs/UDRtoCu3jOI/AAAAAAAAGSU/_xfRDnODkNM/s320/6.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Here's the second coat of Mod Podge. I let it dry completely and then I assembled the parts (two, not counting the toothpaste tube I added).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-m_fNKaAjqD4/UDRtql3C-cI/AAAAAAAAGSc/G2sFDHXVj-E/s1600/7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-m_fNKaAjqD4/UDRtql3C-cI/AAAAAAAAGSc/G2sFDHXVj-E/s320/7.jpg" width="172" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We attached it the mirror and we are set to conquer the toothpaste explosions that seemed to occur so regularly in my children's bathrooms. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-skiDzMugcH4/UDRtsW92cQI/AAAAAAAAGSk/3_3FZ8Y2BkM/s1600/8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-skiDzMugcH4/UDRtsW92cQI/AAAAAAAAGSk/3_3FZ8Y2BkM/s320/8.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Have you already purchased {and thrown out?} this addition to my bathroom? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
How did it work for you? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vI8VLsDliiU/UDMTnl1zDeI/AAAAAAAAGNM/q5P7Fn1nTSw/s1600/Intro.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vI8VLsDliiU/UDMTnl1zDeI/AAAAAAAAGNM/q5P7Fn1nTSw/s640/Intro.jpg" width="443" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I invited a few friends over with the FULL intention of letting the kids do this craft. I was going to visit and oversee the glue-gun usage...that was all. UNTIL my friend starting pulling out all these MMM goodies I have stashed in my office. Add to that the really INCREDIBLE buttons we just got into the shop...we couldn't resist. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-s48TiykOeL4/UDMTpY106xI/AAAAAAAAGNU/2gLosfLWeg0/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="184" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-s48TiykOeL4/UDMTpY106xI/AAAAAAAAGNU/2gLosfLWeg0/s320/1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
We started with the SUPER cute felt MMM just started selling. We each picked a piece and measured on the "wrong" side of the felt- or the side you don't want showing at the very end. We measured 5 1/2 inches by 7 inches - marked the felt with a ball point pin .<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BApcGdgXYHo/UDMTsNpdrmI/AAAAAAAAGNc/dOJYPyKsRDM/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BApcGdgXYHo/UDMTsNpdrmI/AAAAAAAAGNc/dOJYPyKsRDM/s320/2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I marked mine in a couple places so that I could "connect-the-dots" I used a piece of paper to trace straight measurement lines onto my felt. I cut it out with REGULAR scissors first. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-b_IahNK-RQY/UDMTuWlRraI/AAAAAAAAGNk/1EaxmQbXItE/s1600/2.5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="235" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-b_IahNK-RQY/UDMTuWlRraI/AAAAAAAAGNk/1EaxmQbXItE/s320/2.5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Then I used pinking shears to cut around the outside. You could omit this part, or only do the inside (the opening) part or just the outside edges...whatever!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-n3O3B2X-k1w/UDMTwP_UT_I/AAAAAAAAGNs/byErHSFMpsU/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="232" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-n3O3B2X-k1w/UDMTwP_UT_I/AAAAAAAAGNs/byErHSFMpsU/s320/3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
We folded the felt so that the two shorter sides met up in the center. I put a {little} dab of glue on each of the inside corners of the felt so that it would hold while I sewed. I hate when multiple parts move around when you are trying to complete something. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YbCHeYGLBRc/UDMTxn9sJCI/AAAAAAAAGN0/mi12qCEhEtI/s1600/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="227" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YbCHeYGLBRc/UDMTxn9sJCI/AAAAAAAAGN0/mi12qCEhEtI/s320/4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We all just did a basic stitch. We used some BAKER'S TWINE I had lying around- it was my friend's idea. She's pretty clever. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QvJebok_3VU/UDMTzv-5LlI/AAAAAAAAGN8/CMHH1Es9pSM/s1600/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="199" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QvJebok_3VU/UDMTzv-5LlI/AAAAAAAAGN8/CMHH1Es9pSM/s320/5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
She mentioned to make sure you start on the inside of the edge when you start so that you don't have the knot on the outside....and to end the same way. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JaTDDnR4vqs/UDMT1fgGUSI/AAAAAAAAGOE/BaYf2v2hz1Y/s1600/6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JaTDDnR4vqs/UDMT1fgGUSI/AAAAAAAAGOE/BaYf2v2hz1Y/s320/6.jpg" width="307" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
After we sew the ends, we began embellishing! We let the kids tell us what ideas they had for their holders. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SxMlAncPNqo/UDMT3FPB4gI/AAAAAAAAGOM/wyWINinKryA/s1600/7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="306" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SxMlAncPNqo/UDMT3FPB4gI/AAAAAAAAGOM/wyWINinKryA/s320/7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Did you spy buttons, ric rac (both BIG and SMALL), baker's twine, buttons...colored, shapes and hearts, lace tape, AND ribbon? WHEW! It was a FUN, FAST craft and I think we may make some more- after we buy a new glue gun. Did you know that a glue gun struggles to work properly after a four year-old pulls a half-melted stick out the wrong end? Yeah. I didn't either. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LTDn3X9GvMA/UDJRQ8EA-SI/AAAAAAAAGKE/s6uyuyjiIuI/s1600/Collage2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LTDn3X9GvMA/UDJRQ8EA-SI/AAAAAAAAGKE/s6uyuyjiIuI/s640/Collage2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
Courtney's cute mom saw a darling wood plank sign of a pink elephant a bit ago. She really liked it. But the elephant was pink...it only had TWO legs and it had a hefty price tag.<br />
<br />
So, the two of us decided to make her one- exactly the way SHE wanted it and for WAAAAY less money.<br />
<br />
It began this way: Home Depo wood planks for $.97/ piece. Cut to size- we'll be able to use the scraps for another project- we really actually didn't spend that much on this board. We cut them (more specifically Mr. Fabulous did).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="264" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4g5IzhIwVs4/UDJRShGmbsI/AAAAAAAAGKM/JlTEcuWAMnw/s320/1.jpg" width="320" /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We assembled them will additional planks and some nails. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8dAgviITSLQ/UDJRT3ABcdI/AAAAAAAAGKU/S22lXsq8cks/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8dAgviITSLQ/UDJRT3ABcdI/AAAAAAAAGKU/S22lXsq8cks/s320/2.jpg" width="247" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
We ended up with this LOVELY 4'x3' bunch of planks, ie, blank CANVAS.....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1qdubGSvhYw/UDJRV9AEkeI/AAAAAAAAGKc/JxiCqZCXk4M/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="235" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1qdubGSvhYw/UDJRV9AEkeI/AAAAAAAAGKc/JxiCqZCXk4M/s320/3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
We started painting. We started with ivory spray paint. Just a heads up. The paint SOAKED into the wood doing almost nothing. We tried spray paint primer...yeah right. We went BACK to Home Depot and purchased paint...mixed by the sweetest older gentleman. We bought some rollers and started again. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WxW-vAm_S9k/UDJRXgVly6I/AAAAAAAAGKk/k_UHFVoPjnE/s1600/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WxW-vAm_S9k/UDJRXgVly6I/AAAAAAAAGKk/k_UHFVoPjnE/s320/4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
It worked terrific and it all went pretty fast!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UzK-y2HxgzA/UDJRYtKGryI/AAAAAAAAGKs/3cXI2d8VpBc/s1600/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UzK-y2HxgzA/UDJRYtKGryI/AAAAAAAAGKs/3cXI2d8VpBc/s320/5.jpg" width="273" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
When it was dry (two minutes later) I started sanding the boards for that "antiqued-vintage" look we were going for. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-iDTbaCat8Mw/UDJRaOINV9I/AAAAAAAAGK0/RY6VtUHIhZw/s1600/6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-iDTbaCat8Mw/UDJRaOINV9I/AAAAAAAAGK0/RY6VtUHIhZw/s320/6.jpg" width="221" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
After the sanding, we stood the board up, darkened the garage and then using a projector to project the exact elephant image we wanted up the on the board, started tracing it onto the board.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wy6sOM-aKig/UDJRbrTV3cI/AAAAAAAAGK8/a8pfjFcWlDs/s1600/8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="299" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wy6sOM-aKig/UDJRbrTV3cI/AAAAAAAAGK8/a8pfjFcWlDs/s320/8.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

<br />
<br />
We brought it inside to my kitchen and started painting the elephant! We had debated over what type of brush to use. We bought all different kinds and ended up staying with what we knew best- foam brushes! It was the right choice. It gave us the control we needed to keep lines straight but also the ability to show some of the wood's 'character'. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vjK87wHjYQM/UDJReHjGHFI/AAAAAAAAGLM/IFZ7TDhjNS0/s1600/10.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="309" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vjK87wHjYQM/UDJReHjGHFI/AAAAAAAAGLM/IFZ7TDhjNS0/s320/10.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
We did touch up with a smaller brush, though. Note the eye in this picture compared to the finished elephant eye. It was nice to have that option. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-l3H_zKBuTew/UDJRfK8aYkI/AAAAAAAAGLU/PzBkcrPOxWw/s1600/11.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="182" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-l3H_zKBuTew/UDJRfK8aYkI/AAAAAAAAGLU/PzBkcrPOxWw/s320/11.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
After the paint dried, we sanded again. We wanted it a little distressed- but not a whole lot. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SWX95FC-_oY/UDJRgAwvgYI/AAAAAAAAGLc/wXQSdzadGPo/s1600/12.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="253" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SWX95FC-_oY/UDJRgAwvgYI/AAAAAAAAGLc/wXQSdzadGPo/s320/12.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Here's the finished product! On it's way to Countney's mom! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MHn8tmZ3fTk/UC5mdVDxpAI/AAAAAAAAGHo/sXWDCHTeigk/s1600/IntroT.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MHn8tmZ3fTk/UC5mdVDxpAI/AAAAAAAAGHo/sXWDCHTeigk/s400/IntroT.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<a href="http://mindymaesmarket.blogspot.com/2012/08/glitter-galoreoffice-essentials.html" target="_blank">I totally LOVED the glitter craft we featured HERE.</a> It being a new school year and I, needing to dress up my classroom a bit, decided to give this here tutorial a go. <br />
<br />
I started with some trivets I picked up from IKEA- with the intent of doing something like this...but didn't. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rKg6PCXnb38/UC5l8m7cOZI/AAAAAAAAGGM/o7UVYGdGYDc/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="162" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rKg6PCXnb38/UC5l8m7cOZI/AAAAAAAAGGM/o7UVYGdGYDc/s320/1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I used acrylic paint- we've tried spray paint before but felt like it kept getting absorbed into the cork. That didn't happen with the acrylic paint. I used a simple sponge brush and it applied beautifully. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OH7E2f4eGZU/UC5l-PAuJGI/AAAAAAAAGGU/wji3D2ym_7A/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OH7E2f4eGZU/UC5l-PAuJGI/AAAAAAAAGGU/wji3D2ym_7A/s320/2.jpg" width="235" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MjMhuBUXRFs/UC5mACbUnZI/AAAAAAAAGGc/zHn7iQVrbnk/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="198" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MjMhuBUXRFs/UC5mACbUnZI/AAAAAAAAGGc/zHn7iQVrbnk/s320/3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I let it dry on a paper plate- this also allowed me to get around the edges....completely. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wFyCGI4vF6U/UC5mB4qnFzI/AAAAAAAAGGk/qCT9v8UzZrw/s1600/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="204" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wFyCGI4vF6U/UC5mB4qnFzI/AAAAAAAAGGk/qCT9v8UzZrw/s320/4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Using painters tape and a marked out section on my countertops {maybe I shouldn't replace them...} I measured and cut equal lengths of the tape to construct the pattern.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dt4pr6wq74E/UC5mD4PgVCI/AAAAAAAAGGs/jfD5MFR8t84/s1600/5T.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="177" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dt4pr6wq74E/UC5mD4PgVCI/AAAAAAAAGGs/jfD5MFR8t84/s320/5T.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Here it is applied....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Kyl1SnWARHg/UC5mE7WRTvI/AAAAAAAAGG0/rWbGeH8axn0/s1600/6T.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="226" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Kyl1SnWARHg/UC5mE7WRTvI/AAAAAAAAGG0/rWbGeH8axn0/s320/6T.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I poured glue into a -small- bowl. I tend to over-estimate my needed craft supplies and I didn't want to have a ton left over after this...for now. At least until I knew it would work for me. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZsE9I3wnqEY/UC5mGMFveHI/AAAAAAAAGG8/6-A5p3TGJwE/s1600/7T.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZsE9I3wnqEY/UC5mGMFveHI/AAAAAAAAGG8/6-A5p3TGJwE/s320/7T.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
My school colors are orange and blue...so we picked out blue glitter.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-f7NvQRZ5gFg/UC5mHdSsv-I/AAAAAAAAGHE/8cwnxBMV02Q/s1600/8T.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-f7NvQRZ5gFg/UC5mHdSsv-I/AAAAAAAAGHE/8cwnxBMV02Q/s320/8T.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ipuy_OYNKQQ/UC5mIwktB7I/AAAAAAAAGHM/4wPbBYjJZ8s/s1600/9T.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ipuy_OYNKQQ/UC5mIwktB7I/AAAAAAAAGHM/4wPbBYjJZ8s/s320/9T.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The glue was easy enough to apply...I was worried about it leaking under the tape {which it did a little} and there not being enough glitter. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gh0k3XHSsfA/UC5mKhw5u6I/AAAAAAAAGHU/TodxLe-h-Mw/s1600/10T.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gh0k3XHSsfA/UC5mKhw5u6I/AAAAAAAAGHU/TodxLe-h-Mw/s320/10T.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
This is after it dried, tape removed and a bit of the excess "leakage" rubbed off. I do like it. I think I may use tackier tape next time and add more glitter to my glue mix but over all a pretty good first try.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ANkqWwsRp2w/UC5mNGe__mI/AAAAAAAAGHc/diBtTPEkhdo/s1600/11T.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ANkqWwsRp2w/UC5mNGe__mI/AAAAAAAAGHc/diBtTPEkhdo/s320/11T.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://mindymaesmarket.blogspot.com/2012/08/d-i-t-inspired-glitter-bow-via-mary.html" target="_blank">We did glitter over at MindyMaes Blog today, too.</a> Check it out. It's pretty cute. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sKrDxMKrLkI/UCx0FZ-1ETI/AAAAAAAAGAE/QM0JiWdddUE/s1600/Intro.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="499" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sKrDxMKrLkI/UCx0FZ-1ETI/AAAAAAAAGAE/QM0JiWdddUE/s640/Intro.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I'm really disappointed. My husband and I purchased this monstrosity of a parts organizer off of publicsurplus.com a while ago. It was HUGE. Picture this: 3 {THREE} individual metal cabinets made of pure metal- together they were about 5 foot high and 10 feet long. Drawers galore...dividers...cubbies...pulls...side tool holders. All metal. We bought it for 100 clams, picked it up {with the help of a forklift} and happily brought it to where we were living. <br />
<br />
We moved a short time later. I think my brothers are still cursing us and our prized possession. <br />
<br />
When we moved we had a desire to bring this wonderful piece of work into our home in some sort of beautiful, functional way. I had the idea to chop the top {meaning the drawers} off of the units and bring them inside to use as the kids' craft storage area and extra seating for when family is all there. {I have this THING about everyone being able to sit in the same room, at least. I'm even MORE excited if it's all at the same table!}<br />
<br />
So we did. We saw the crap out of this thing, put feet on it and brought it indoors (after A LOT of cleaning). The cubbies are still in the garage waiting patiently to be made into a makeshift mudroom type situation. <br />
<br />
I was at Home Depot with the family the other day and noticed that they were selling foam mattresses for $20---TWENTY BUCKS! These things usually go for substantially more- which is why I haven't yet tackled this project. Until NOW. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pUx1ugWcXiU/UCx0Ggj-xJI/AAAAAAAAGAM/pfoAUJ7ltec/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="189" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pUx1ugWcXiU/UCx0Ggj-xJI/AAAAAAAAGAM/pfoAUJ7ltec/s320/1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I started to cut it with my scissors I was so excited to get started. It didn't work. I ended up calling a friend to borrow her electric knife {mine bit the dust years ago}, which was WAAY easier. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wCjH87Hw2Wg/UCx0HRX139I/AAAAAAAAGAU/oew0F7BThug/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wCjH87Hw2Wg/UCx0HRX139I/AAAAAAAAGAU/oew0F7BThug/s320/2.jpg" width="252" /></a></div>
Once I got that cut, the husband {I think I'll start calling him Mr. Wonderful- it might get me some points} cut me some plywood 7 feet by 2 feet. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-breFczuN0T8/UCx0KdNhCtI/AAAAAAAAGAc/QXthGciMz_Y/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="151" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-breFczuN0T8/UCx0KdNhCtI/AAAAAAAAGAc/QXthGciMz_Y/s320/3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
He also had a desire to keep the seat ON the bench. With four kids things are going to move, break, bend and, did I say break? So we drilled some holes through the plywood and the top of the metal bench so we could anchor it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jhn5H9f-h-4/UCx0K9qlrmI/AAAAAAAAGAk/UZUnwFtdr3k/s1600/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="299" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jhn5H9f-h-4/UCx0K9qlrmI/AAAAAAAAGAk/UZUnwFtdr3k/s320/4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I picked up some beige twill and some clear vinyl {over in the oilcloth section} in the fabric department of Walmart. We were there fulfilling the ever-growing list of needed items for my children to succeed in school.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dRioKtX8w6g/UCx0MFb71EI/AAAAAAAAGAs/-vm-5SeJ9O4/s1600/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="270" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dRioKtX8w6g/UCx0MFb71EI/AAAAAAAAGAs/-vm-5SeJ9O4/s320/5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
First (I don't have pictures because we were both involved), we hot glued the foam to the plywood. It made it easier to flip over and lift, etc. I recommend it. We then spread the twill out and amidst the scraps of additional foam, we laid everything out.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-h5trR8GFoD4/UCx0NmNKsII/AAAAAAAAGA0/HWpBcK1QuXM/s1600/6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="193" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-h5trR8GFoD4/UCx0NmNKsII/AAAAAAAAGA0/HWpBcK1QuXM/s320/6.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Lkl1kH9keZ8/UCx0Q6RaKLI/AAAAAAAAGA8/lf3Ef430PYU/s1600/7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="170" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Lkl1kH9keZ8/UCx0Q6RaKLI/AAAAAAAAGA8/lf3Ef430PYU/s320/7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Once we laid everything out, we pulled the edge of the fabric around the side of the board, folded it under once and stapled it with a staple gun. We did a whole side first, then the opposite side and finally we "hospital cornered" the ends and stapled them, too. Then we flipped it over to see how it looked.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-22lM10mj8_Y/UCx0R45w2xI/AAAAAAAAGBE/MdNgRL7pJz0/s1600/8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="133" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-22lM10mj8_Y/UCx0R45w2xI/AAAAAAAAGBE/MdNgRL7pJz0/s320/8.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
We wanted to add a little to it- not a lot. So I pulled a wooden letter off of my mantel, some acrylic paint and a sponge brush out of the organizer and a paper plate together. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dyrolDFGJl4/UCx0T89oVWI/AAAAAAAAGBM/VYA_bj_VJIw/s1600/9.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dyrolDFGJl4/UCx0T89oVWI/AAAAAAAAGBM/VYA_bj_VJIw/s320/9.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
We practiced this more than a couple times (make sure to double up your fabric, in case of bleed-through) to see what we liked best and if it was going to work at all. We ended liking thick paint strokes over the letter. It got too messy when we painted paint directly onto the letter and was less textural.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-C-J4m_1ZoL8/UCx0WO6nTiI/AAAAAAAAGBU/WTH9yJa4Lqg/s1600/10.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="244" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-C-J4m_1ZoL8/UCx0WO6nTiI/AAAAAAAAGBU/WTH9yJa4Lqg/s320/10.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
We pressed the letter into the fabric as evenly as we possibly could.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LhFrXSSoCa8/UCx0X623hBI/AAAAAAAAGBc/zIrrvgapSNg/s1600/11.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="262" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LhFrXSSoCa8/UCx0X623hBI/AAAAAAAAGBc/zIrrvgapSNg/s320/11.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
We rubbed the letter into the fabric- like you would a stamp into paper...or fabric. ;)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Va_uAebIK5M/UCx0ZDB7PuI/AAAAAAAAGBk/Pns_GN3n1oI/s1600/12.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="301" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Va_uAebIK5M/UCx0ZDB7PuI/AAAAAAAAGBk/Pns_GN3n1oI/s320/12.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
It wasn't enough. So we looked around the house and found this little darling from my brother's wedding a bit back. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GhffY6FsZSw/UCx0aSG9qoI/AAAAAAAAGBs/DqhkNXAPIso/s1600/13.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="243" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GhffY6FsZSw/UCx0aSG9qoI/AAAAAAAAGBs/DqhkNXAPIso/s320/13.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-brz1UOSEOUo/UCx0bIlMeiI/AAAAAAAAGB0/RMsNJ-Od46A/s1600/14.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-brz1UOSEOUo/UCx0bIlMeiI/AAAAAAAAGB0/RMsNJ-Od46A/s320/14.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

<br />
We practiced our location, painted the rim and applied it to the fabric where we liked it the most. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-sEkp5kvlgyA/UCx0eYmXwBI/AAAAAAAAGCM/H2TpvEiUe6Q/s1600/17.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="229" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-sEkp5kvlgyA/UCx0eYmXwBI/AAAAAAAAGCM/H2TpvEiUe6Q/s320/17.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
We let the paint dry and then we got ready to repeat the twill-wrapping process with the clear vinyl. Otherwise, one good milk spill and we were out a bench cushion. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iGDQMqskAwE/UCx0fo81MaI/AAAAAAAAGCU/leqLPq86-qw/s1600/18.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="195" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iGDQMqskAwE/UCx0fo81MaI/AAAAAAAAGCU/leqLPq86-qw/s320/18.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This was what we ended up with...a fully attached, vinyl-covered bench cushion that rests upon metal that used to house truck parts. HOW COOL!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />

Thinking about adding a back...a mini-back. Like with the part that I cut off originally {4"x7'}. What do you think?</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7tUE0nV0mz8/UCu0kiVivhI/AAAAAAAAF7E/kYSVwsbv4R0/s1600/Intro+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="451" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7tUE0nV0mz8/UCu0kiVivhI/AAAAAAAAF7E/kYSVwsbv4R0/s640/Intro+2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
We ended part 1 with the hutch being painted. I didn't really dig the pink backing. Even with the cool {though unintentional} ombre-esque paint job. So with a hammer and a block of wood we pulled the nails. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-azIA79TSYhM/UCu0u13UK2I/AAAAAAAAF7M/IuTar6_okmo/s1600/Backing+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-azIA79TSYhM/UCu0u13UK2I/AAAAAAAAF7M/IuTar6_okmo/s320/Backing+1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Og3W_HWx7_0/UCu0yp-6-pI/AAAAAAAAF7U/D19NH7k_R80/s1600/Backing+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="230" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Og3W_HWx7_0/UCu0yp-6-pI/AAAAAAAAF7U/D19NH7k_R80/s320/Backing+2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
From there I painted the back with Valspar Blue Oceans Breeze. I painted this -you guessed it... THREE times! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bTqepD-N6tA/UCu04F6QrjI/AAAAAAAAF7c/XXSUCR1auYw/s1600/Backing+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="251" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bTqepD-N6tA/UCu04F6QrjI/AAAAAAAAF7c/XXSUCR1auYw/s320/Backing+3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Here's the fun part! I had some leftover lace from the tabletops at my brother's wedding that I pulled out.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZvEZ2sZjd4o/UCu06VI3VFI/AAAAAAAAF7k/mWdgk3HOC14/s1600/Backing+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZvEZ2sZjd4o/UCu06VI3VFI/AAAAAAAAF7k/mWdgk3HOC14/s320/Backing+4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I placed it over the top and with white spray paint I sprayed a light mist over the top of the lace, over the top of the blue-painted backing.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YnyBIySK8Wo/UCu0-L5Q2hI/AAAAAAAAF7s/73UKTdXCRVM/s1600/Backing+5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YnyBIySK8Wo/UCu0-L5Q2hI/AAAAAAAAF7s/73UKTdXCRVM/s320/Backing+5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Then I painted it more heavily {which is what you need to do to have the pattern show up}. I pulled the lace off and voila! I had a shabby chic backing for a minimal amount of effort!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zJP4PXwL5OM/UCu1EsATMMI/AAAAAAAAF70/L1cPP_NkGsI/s1600/Backing+6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zJP4PXwL5OM/UCu1EsATMMI/AAAAAAAAF70/L1cPP_NkGsI/s320/Backing+6.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
We re-attached the backing to the hutch- nail holes were already made, so it was a breeze!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UGba_xMtSSc/UCu1RoM8RrI/AAAAAAAAF78/PXCn-qb-67Q/s1600/Cabinet+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UGba_xMtSSc/UCu1RoM8RrI/AAAAAAAAF78/PXCn-qb-67Q/s320/Cabinet+1.jpg" width="225" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I attached some knobs from MindyMaesMarket.com...turquoise ceramic roses- which just HAPPENED to match the backing PERFECTLY! {Don't you love it when it all comes together like that?}<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_JRr59YjTCc/UCu1VwuQ29I/AAAAAAAAF8E/kr1hClAHKdc/s1600/2012-08-06+18.41.59.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_JRr59YjTCc/UCu1VwuQ29I/AAAAAAAAF8E/kr1hClAHKdc/s320/2012-08-06+18.41.59.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
And clear knobs {because more rose ones were too big to close the doors...and it might have looked a BIT overdone.}. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DMRPDlpwY6k/UCu1XYKAc9I/AAAAAAAAF8M/TjKrMpxjnVY/s1600/2012-08-06+18.41.49.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DMRPDlpwY6k/UCu1XYKAc9I/AAAAAAAAF8M/TjKrMpxjnVY/s320/2012-08-06+18.41.49.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Here it is finished and dressed up a little! I'm really happy with the amazing details!<br />

<div align="left">
I'm gonna two-part this sucker because of the number of pictures. </div>
<div align="left">
Don't want you falling asleep on me. It's a boring hutch to Shabby Chic Sweetness!</div>
<div align="left">
<br /></div>
<div align="left">
We were given this cute little hutch for a birthday a couple years ago in this condition...</div>
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kKCfLhHlml0/UCnPV6i4jYI/AAAAAAAAF3A/sPH5d7-Z8ZU/s1600/Before+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kKCfLhHlml0/UCnPV6i4jYI/AAAAAAAAF3A/sPH5d7-Z8ZU/s320/Before+1.jpg" width="223" /></a><br />
<br />Yes. I know I should have re-done it before now....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xeoh5dYw0SQ/UCnPYmtWlMI/AAAAAAAAF3Q/UkqO2XA6aYs/s1600/Before+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="226" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xeoh5dYw0SQ/UCnPYmtWlMI/AAAAAAAAF3Q/UkqO2XA6aYs/s320/Before+3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />My four year-old loves this grody thing and asks me to make it pretty all-of-the-time. My negligent decorating hasn't stopped her from playing with it and storing her most valued possessions in it{lip gloss, mostly}.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rYaLtoy73yM/UCnPcLw5ifI/AAAAAAAAF3g/5ZflJR92Cns/s1600/Before+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rYaLtoy73yM/UCnPcLw5ifI/AAAAAAAAF3g/5ZflJR92Cns/s320/Before+4.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XTP7KCTGF9g/UCnPh3xotqI/AAAAAAAAF3o/wR6hmpl9Lnk/s1600/Before+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="235" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XTP7KCTGF9g/UCnPh3xotqI/AAAAAAAAF3o/wR6hmpl9Lnk/s320/Before+2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />So it begins...now. I took it apart; hardware, drawers, doors. Trying hard not to be grossed out by the dried-on food and whatever else was now cemented to every part of this {cute, right?} hutch.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WG2FQLA-K5w/UCnPk45j5ZI/AAAAAAAAF3w/L3_7pQTxwAw/s1600/Before+5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WG2FQLA-K5w/UCnPk45j5ZI/AAAAAAAAF3w/L3_7pQTxwAw/s320/Before+5.jpg" width="291" /></a></div>
<br />I commenced sanding. I am sanding in my family room. I was too tired to drag it outside and the carpet is on it's way out, anyway. It seemed more fun to do it this way...kinda rebellious. I won't lie. This thing took like three different sanding sessions. Every painted layer seemed to be less thick than the one before it, but with more dried-on drips. To get it back to smooth was a chore.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KzHOA9vY8qY/UCnPmw89fKI/AAAAAAAAF34/Cu6lQWWMZAM/s1600/Before+6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KzHOA9vY8qY/UCnPmw89fKI/AAAAAAAAF34/Cu6lQWWMZAM/s320/Before+6.jpg" width="229" /></a></div>
I took all the parts outside and primed them with Valspar spray primer. Can I just say how much I love that primer now comes in spray paint form? A.TON. It took me about three layers of primer, too. A good deal of exposed fake wood was present after my sanding and we had to help it all take on some paint.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HV0GJSR1HJg/UCnPvQ1T37I/AAAAAAAAF4E/04Iz_cbw5HU/s1600/Primer+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HV0GJSR1HJg/UCnPvQ1T37I/AAAAAAAAF4E/04Iz_cbw5HU/s320/Primer+1.jpg" width="301" /></a></div>
<br />I primed the hutch itself and was so {ehem} pleased to find that the whole back of the cabinet was made of particle board. Not the best for painting or avoiding splinters and slivers.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-joy3XADc020/UCnPxMfX6eI/AAAAAAAAF4M/Vc03QacETMI/s1600/Primer+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-joy3XADc020/UCnPxMfX6eI/AAAAAAAAF4M/Vc03QacETMI/s320/Primer+2.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />I then began spray painting the hutch with Valspar's 'Ballet Slipper'. Kinda giddy that I'm STILL spray painting. It's soo much easier than painting with a brush- perhaps it's just the fumes I'm inhaling? Three sprayed on layers, as well. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-s3t5ksT0hq0/UCnPzplJ2gI/AAAAAAAAF4U/9mGrPhnaWRg/s1600/Paint+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-s3t5ksT0hq0/UCnPzplJ2gI/AAAAAAAAF4U/9mGrPhnaWRg/s320/Paint+1.jpg" width="289" /></a></div>
<br />So three seems to be my magic number with this little get-up. Three trips to the store for paint, too! Here's the painted hutch...for now. Tomorrow I'll show you the cute backing and the darling hardware <br />
<br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ysEEd8Jt7VE/UCnP1jzq_4I/AAAAAAAAF4c/5x28hgXKIfk/s1600/Painting+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ysEEd8Jt7VE/UCnP1jzq_4I/AAAAAAAAF4c/5x28hgXKIfk/s320/Painting+2.jpg" width="229" /></a>{from MindyMaesMarket.com of course}!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

Have you ever started a project that you wanted to finish in a certain amount of time and it seemed as if EVERYTHING was working against you?<br />
<br />
Here's a sneak-peek of the project that will be posting later today.
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RGKngJ1KFBA/UCm_SW15gfI/AAAAAAAAF1Y/m3Sd3XHZWQ8/s1600/Question.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RGKngJ1KFBA/UCm_SW15gfI/AAAAAAAAF1Y/m3Sd3XHZWQ8/s400/Question.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My final straw yesterday is when I couldn't take good pictures due to:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
-screaming children</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
-lack of sunlight</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
-paint still not dried</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
-knob placement misjudgement</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So. You'll see the unveiling later when I:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
-duct tape the children {kidding....}</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
-have full daylight sun</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
-the paint is dried</div>

Stay tuned! {You don't have to...I'll post it to Facebook when I'm done.}</div>

I will be heading up a couple projects...and wanted to share my tutorials ahead...so maybe we can do them together!
<br />
<br />
The first is a bank system for my children. We will be re-starting our chore chart/monetary system again and I really like this option- this tutorial,<a href="http://blog.bitsofeverything.com/2011/02/money-jars-for-kids-tutorial.html#comment-form" target="_blank"> from Bits of Everything shows you how to make the crate and EVERYTHING!</a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WO7uMS82M9Y/UCiNMfRGEhI/AAAAAAAAFzs/Ypri7GY-J-A/s1600/MoneyJars-11edit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WO7uMS82M9Y/UCiNMfRGEhI/AAAAAAAAFzs/Ypri7GY-J-A/s400/MoneyJars-11edit.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have a cute cushion for a Turning This Into That project that I need to finish...which involves covering a cushion...or TWO. <a href="http://www.outlikebandits.com/how-to-sew-cushion-covers-for-your-camper/" target="_blank">I found a terrific tutorial</a> with Out Like Bandits. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sUWGU0Eubzg/UCiO4VyGTzI/AAAAAAAAFz0/1Ji3BanSnyA/s1600/finished-cover1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sUWGU0Eubzg/UCiO4VyGTzI/AAAAAAAAFz0/1Ji3BanSnyA/s400/finished-cover1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And then, like Funcycled, I will be repainting a hutch. {Mine's a little smaller, however.}</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vPmi1oTSpOA/UCiQlMLb5rI/AAAAAAAAFz8/h04wrcAm1qE/s1600/IMG_5099-wv-169x300.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vPmi1oTSpOA/UCiQlMLb5rI/AAAAAAAAFz8/h04wrcAm1qE/s400/IMG_5099-wv-169x300.jpg" width="225" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="http://funcycled.com/diy/shabby-chic-style-white-and-teal-hutch/" target="_blank">She does a wonderful job- see HERE.</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Busy week of projects and classroom-organizing! School is quickly approaching! </div>

Mindy Maes Market Knobs!<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kxn8wcse_3c/UCUwnN0sl1I/AAAAAAAAFwo/XoECsBf2K5o/s1600/Intro.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="425" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kxn8wcse_3c/UCUwnN0sl1I/AAAAAAAAFwo/XoECsBf2K5o/s640/Intro.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
We just got these gorgeous knobs into the <a href="http://www.mindymaesmarket.com/" target="_blank">store</a> and I just had to put them to work somewhere in my house! I wasn't sure if I wanted a hanging rack...so I have a few other projects with these included, too!<br />
<br />
We started with an old window we salvaged from a barn recently torn down. {Yay for fun finds!} <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-M2GvIig2UtM/UCUwp8Ox7WI/AAAAAAAAFww/qL7HsrK0d-I/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-M2GvIig2UtM/UCUwp8Ox7WI/AAAAAAAAFww/qL7HsrK0d-I/s320/1.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>
I just LOVE the paint and the hardware...the rust and the dirt {fabulous!}. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jdVOCQIiKLU/UCUwsG7LZKI/AAAAAAAAFw4/2jgjudSGoww/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jdVOCQIiKLU/UCUwsG7LZKI/AAAAAAAAFw4/2jgjudSGoww/s320/2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cw5v-rVZB_U/UCUwthji0aI/AAAAAAAAFxA/l-sFpe0Mg94/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="252" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cw5v-rVZB_U/UCUwthji0aI/AAAAAAAAFxA/l-sFpe0Mg94/s320/3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
We set out the knob to get a general idea for placement...isn't this going to be beautiful?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jDb8Y8tG_6E/UCUwvz3ImtI/AAAAAAAAFxI/hVNbydj4rO8/s1600/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="128" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jDb8Y8tG_6E/UCUwvz3ImtI/AAAAAAAAFxI/hVNbydj4rO8/s320/4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Here are the knobs...six different yummy designs!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--2U3Polh84M/UCUww1gXrpI/AAAAAAAAFxQ/8ds8qo1s4e4/s1600/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--2U3Polh84M/UCUww1gXrpI/AAAAAAAAFxQ/8ds8qo1s4e4/s320/5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
We removed the hardware- so as to not ruin whatever wall the organizer would be hanging on. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BWNSzPM2GIc/UCUwyG672JI/AAAAAAAAFxY/Q-Hsm6qXicQ/s1600/6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="245" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BWNSzPM2GIc/UCUwyG672JI/AAAAAAAAFxY/Q-Hsm6qXicQ/s320/6.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vSZ3PR97TOk/UCUwzOUtvKI/AAAAAAAAFxg/ppxv9d35_4M/s1600/7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vSZ3PR97TOk/UCUwzOUtvKI/AAAAAAAAFxg/ppxv9d35_4M/s320/7.jpg" width="163" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
We pre-drilled the holes to make screwing them into place a little easier.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qQJ_eKIegpA/UCUw1E2ydeI/AAAAAAAAFxo/zDuPgTgN-CE/s1600/8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qQJ_eKIegpA/UCUw1E2ydeI/AAAAAAAAFxo/zDuPgTgN-CE/s320/8.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>
<br />
Then we commence with screwing each knob into place. This was harder than I anticipated. I now have rose-shaped tender-spots in each of my palms. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oItAoeL6p-U/UCUw2MIrkjI/AAAAAAAAFxw/FSPVxSkITxs/s1600/9.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="316" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oItAoeL6p-U/UCUw2MIrkjI/AAAAAAAAFxw/FSPVxSkITxs/s320/9.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /> </div>
Our finished product! So cute...AND functional!<br />
<div class="separator" dir="rtl" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8HgkOmY_AEQ/UCUw3CyN7vI/AAAAAAAAFx4/Sm3PxZ1UcNk/s1600/10.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="122" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8HgkOmY_AEQ/UCUw3CyN7vI/AAAAAAAAFx4/Sm3PxZ1UcNk/s320/10.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

First item found:
<br />
<a href="http://www.orangetreestudio.info/2011/09/wednesday-diy-color-block-necklace/" target="_blank">This train case from impulseART</a>. My mom had one like this in blue when I was growing up. I remember sitting and watching her get ready- pulling out each item one by one, applying it and then putting it back into the nice little pockets that line the case. I distinctly remember being very glad it didn't collapse under my weight when I stepped on it on one trip....very sturdy, these train cases. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
A custom-made version of Marilyn Monroe's dress from "Gentlemen Prefer Blonds"- how AMAZING is that?!?! I never even THOUGHT...FATHOMED...CONSIDERED! I love it and all I'd have to do is pony up the cash. {ahem.} This <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/73349490/marilyn-monroes-amazing-orange?ref=sr_gallery_1&ga_search_query=orange&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=ZZ&ga_min=0&ga_max=0&ga_page=21&ga_search_type=all" target="_blank">opportunity can be found with DaintyRascal</a>. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WCslb-KZVok/UCHUtOYfluI/AAAAAAAAFr0/AijRdlB9FQQ/s1600/Intro.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WCslb-KZVok/UCHUtOYfluI/AAAAAAAAFr0/AijRdlB9FQQ/s400/Intro.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Today happened to be one of those days. I was running constantly but seemed to be doing nothing but spinning my wheels. In reverse. So I decided to take stock in the one thing I have copious amounts of....MESS!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">Granted, these are all works in progress...I need to focus on the end point and not this somewhere-in-the-middle-piles-of-stuff point.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">So, make yourself feel better...</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mxdKpW5CW0M/UCHUv0NuJ0I/AAAAAAAAFr8/AvOQrTMkQ2c/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mxdKpW5CW0M/UCHUv0NuJ0I/AAAAAAAAFr8/AvOQrTMkQ2c/s320/1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Half-done projects, empty soda bottles, laptops on top of everything else BUT a lap! These are a few of my things...favorite, not so much. </span><br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">Here is my living room. My husband decided that the crooked ceiling (the slope was off 1 1/2 inches from one side of the room to the next) had to go- NOW. He ripped it all down to find water damage, lots of rot and a HUGE wasp nest (empty, thank goodness). It's a mixed blessing.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AYHsO8DyzWo/UCHUx05uV1I/AAAAAAAAFsE/jcwNqG4R5P4/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AYHsO8DyzWo/UCHUx05uV1I/AAAAAAAAFsE/jcwNqG4R5P4/s320/2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Then there is my classroom and lab. I just took a position teaching in a room that has been {mostly} occupied by two men over the last twenty years. I have had the pleasure of digging {and I DO mean digging} through the accumulated items from the pair. Many items I have NO idea what they are for or if they work or not. </span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-U72cLEgHNac/UCHUzA6A_sI/AAAAAAAAFsM/PfTnnKHqcZc/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-U72cLEgHNac/UCHUzA6A_sI/AAAAAAAAFsM/PfTnnKHqcZc/s320/3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gl30V0rACzo/UCHU01IQjeI/AAAAAAAAFsU/XDY1ikNisYo/s1600/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gl30V0rACzo/UCHU01IQjeI/AAAAAAAAFsU/XDY1ikNisYo/s320/4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Thrilled as I am to be teaching {with POWER TOOLS} I am feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">Anyone else? </span><br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">This little project has been long time due. I purchased this vinyl from <a href="http://www.pickyourplum.com/" target="_blank">Pick Your Plum</a>, oh, about a year ago. I bought TWO, actually. I usually do- just in case I mess up, I need a gift, I come up with a super-duper double idea...you know what I'm saying, I'm sure. </span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana;">SO, unlike <a href="http://www.artsyfartsymama.com/2012/08/diy-laundry-room-art.html" target="_blank">Artsy-Fartsy Mama,</a> my vinyl was black to start with. I had these cute plaques already cut for me...they had a white laminate on them...so I worked with what I had. I first applied the {black} vinyl. Then I sprayed them with Krylon primer. Then when that dried {I think...I get kind of impatient.} I spray painted them with color. I used Valspar colors...if you are interested, let me know and I can get you exact colors. </span><br />

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-16UcjJnttxU/UCDD94gRX2I/AAAAAAAAFo4/xPgsMui0avI/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="209" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-16UcjJnttxU/UCDD94gRX2I/AAAAAAAAFo4/xPgsMui0avI/s320/1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I let those dry....more or less....and then I OH, SO CAREFULLY {you probably don't need to be soo careful if you let them dry properly} peeled the vinyl away from the plaque showing the white that I started with.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DsKN_OWJBzs/UCDD_BurVWI/AAAAAAAAFpA/5Px3wCwR5nc/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="277" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DsKN_OWJBzs/UCDD_BurVWI/AAAAAAAAFpA/5Px3wCwR5nc/s320/2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I did this thee times...one with each of the colors and plaques...to get this:</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GDMPK0qNHa8/UCDEAtfUJuI/AAAAAAAAFpI/XQF_j15B4aQ/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="247" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GDMPK0qNHa8/UCDEAtfUJuI/AAAAAAAAFpI/XQF_j15B4aQ/s320/3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Then I had to hang them. I KNOW I pinned a pin SOMEWHERE about using soda pop tabs as hanging gear...or whatever the proper term SHOULD be. I just so happened to have hung on to a tab or three from a lunch this last week. {Not all mine...just two. ;)} </span><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I couldn't find my trusty staple gun so I pulled out my next best option below the hot glue I was also out of. </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tmv6U8IwrJc/UCDEDUi2rPI/AAAAAAAAFpY/XZJg1oQNB7s/s1600/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="215" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tmv6U8IwrJc/UCDEDUi2rPI/AAAAAAAAFpY/XZJg1oQNB7s/s320/5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I let that dry as long as I could stand {a couple of hours because I left the house}. I used regular ole nails to attach them to the wall. I particularly liked using the pop tabs because I could 'mark' the wall with them to indicate where I wanted to hammer my nails. </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-a4hebZy0NMs/UCDEEwzgecI/AAAAAAAAFpg/jzTi_elnGq8/s1600/6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-a4hebZy0NMs/UCDEEwzgecI/AAAAAAAAFpg/jzTi_elnGq8/s320/6.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I hung these at about 1 am in the morning. After finishing some shipping for the store. Interesting that only ONE person woke up...to hammering...in the house...in the middle of the night. </span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I now don't think dirty laundry is my most pressing of my problems. ;)</span><br />
