Boutique, BABY!

It's kinda like Christmas...a lot like Christmas.
Both sides...the innocent, believing child Christmas and the adult, magic-making Christmas. Putting on a boutique take prep work, emails, phone calls, signs, ads, mailers, flyers, blog buttons and posts. I takes time to find the right vendors that will bring products that will make our friends feel that rush of excitement when they step in through our doors. It's fun to plan, to map out, to watch details and figure final steps in orchestrating something like this, but then....

It's that giddy, nervous, hopeful -yes-I-may-throw-up-out-of -pure-excited-ness feeling WE get to experience, too. As vendors come in and set up, as we set up...as we walk through all the amazingly fun goodies that all of these lovely vendors have worked so hard to assemble and present. I don't sleep the night before- just like Christmas.

So even if it's not in your budget- you don't have to buy a thing...those feelings are all free and we'd love for you to come and experience Mindy Mae's Market. :D

Nikki's Niche- Buckle-Up Bracelets!

Top o' the morning! I wanted to explore a couple of different options with the Buckle-Up Bracelets...just to spark your imagination!

For the first braclet- I chose white, I used some purple washi tape- which you can purchase in our store.

I laid the bracelet right down the center of the tape and wrapped the bracelet as best as I could.

The were still edges not quite laying flat...I wanted it to adhere, but not get sticky later and not be a total mess to apply....so I opted for clear fingernail polish.

I layered it- putting down the first layer and waiting until it got tacky...then pressing any edges sticking up back down and then coating it will a second layer of polish.

Then I just let it dry.

Second option:

I used a large cabochon I had left over from another project...
Here it is in relation to a small cabochon you'd get in one of our assortments.
I used a hot glue gun and a small piece of felt to secure the cabochon to the bracelet.
Taking pictures with one hand proved to be a bit tricky....

Option 3:

I had some fabric flowers...added a shoe clip....

 Added the bucklet bracelet....
 And you're done!

So here were three, quick, easy and customizable bracelet options to apply to YOUR Buckle-Up Bracelets!

Okay...I couldn't resist one more. I put three together and made a cute headband...

You can control the size simply buy taking more in on each side

There you have MY take on these fun little belt-like buckle bracelets!

Morena's Corner- Buckle-Up with some TWILL Tape!

Morena is the gal that everyone wants as their best friend. I'm convinced.
She's crafty and inspired and a WAAAY cute mom of FOUR!
Here's a tutorial she sent to us...when Courtney and I opened it we both freaked out! {Seperately and then together.} We hadn't even DREAMED about doing anything like this with these cute bracelets. We've been happily wearing them...daringly, 3-at-a-time!
So check her out and then stop by her blog...she has a TON more there!

This fun little belt cost me less than $2 to make!
My secret?

I started with two buckle bracelets and twill ribbon, all from MMM.

Cut the bracelets in half.

Use E6000 to glue the bracelets to the ends of the ribbon, as pictured above.

I let mine dry for a day and then I hand stitched where they overlap, just to reinforce it (not pictured).

I wrapped coordinating ribbon to finish the belt. I folded the edge under and hand stitched the trim to hold it in place.

It's such a fun, colorful belt to wear this summer! And, of course, I made more than one. I even made headbands with the same concept. Won't you visit my corner to see more fast, frugal, FABULOUS tutorials?
